Dr. Stopper is the Chief Learning Officer & Director of Learning and Development at the University of California, Berkeley. She is responsible for the team who creates and delivers campus-wide learning initiatives supporting supervisory, management, functional, technical and non-technical learning efforts for the campus’s 8,000+ staff and faculty administrators. In addition, her team is responsible for onboarding, re-boarding and overall employee engagement programming, as well as campus-wide career and professional development programming.

Cheryl Lloyd is the Associate Vice President and Chief Risk Officer for the University of California system. Cheryl is an experienced Risk Manager with over two decades of experience, 18 years of which have been with the University of California. As AVP & Chief Risk Officer, Cheryl oversees a myriad of programs for UC's medical centers, varied global research activities and safety and health programs for students, faculty and staff. She also has oversight of the University's Environment, Health and Safety programs (EH&S), Business Continuity programs, Emergency Management and travel, and risk security programs, and serves as President of Fiat Lux, the University's wholly owned captive insurance company.

Major initiatives and programs for the department of Risk Services include implementing Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) throughout the University, reducing the overall cost of risk, implementing systemwide safety and loss mitigation programs, improving claims management systems, and developing risk financing strategies.

Cheryl began her career in the insurance and risk industry with Chubb Insurance. Before joining University of California in 1998, she was the corporate risk manager for Core-Mark International.

Cheryl has a dual degree in Mass Communications and Sociology from UC Berkeley.

Courtney has worked as an administrator, a professor, and an entrepreneur. While at Mills College, Courtney directed the Office of Student Activities, served as Chair for the Student Experience Committee of the Mills Strategic Plan, and advised student government. As a visiting professor at Mills, she taught courses focused on increasing educational equity for pre-service teachers in the School of Education. During her career, she has facilitated numerous leadership development programs for both students and colleagues at Mills, the University of San Francisco, and Tufts University. She has also provided leadership development consulting for institutions like Minerva and Dominican University. Courtney’s experience as an educator led her to found Fundamentum, a company blending technology and coaching to support people in their career development. At Fundamentum, Courtney’s clients ranged from executives at Fortune 500 companies to recent college graduates.

Courtney received her doctorate in Education from Mills College in Educational Leadership. She also has a Master’s Degree in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a Master’s of Arts in Education from Mills College. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from the University of Texas at Austin. A native Texan, she has called San Francisco home for more than 15 years.

Diane Perkins is a Participant Marketing Lead at Fidelity Investments, a leading provider of investment management, retirement planning, portfolio guidance, brokerage, benefits outsourcing and other financial products and services to more than 26 million individuals, institutions and financial intermediaries. Diane supports Fidelity’s not-for-profit workplace plans, including higher education, healthcare, governmental, faith based, and other nonprofits.

In her role, she is responsible for helping Fidelity’s five million tax exempt retirement plan participants meet their retirement goals through communication, education and online tools. This includes providing education and engagement opportunities to help investors plan holistically for short and long term goals, and leveraging Fidelity’s tools, resources and financial professionals to help save, invest and build their retirement nest egg.

A critical focus area under this umbrella is overseeing Fidelity’s efforts to simplify and promote the federal government’s Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. Through online tools, educational materials, communications, and public speaking, Diane works to ensure that both employers and participants are aware of, and understand how to qualify for, this game-changing financial relief program.

Diane holds more than twenty years experience in financial services and consumer marketing. In addition to her ten years with Fidelity, Diane has led marketing and loyalty program development at major U.S. financial services and retail firms. She has a passion for understanding how individuals make financial decisions and helping them to take the next step to secure their financial future.

Diane received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance and French from Bradley University, and her Masters of Management from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. She holds FINRA Series 7 and 24 registrations.

Doy Charnsupharindr is an executive coach and an instructor of MBA-level courses on developing leadership, communication, and coaching skills. He has taught at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, UC Davis’ Graduate School of Management, the Center for Executive Education at UC Berkeley, and the Berlin School of Creative Leadership.

As an executive coach and consultant, Doy draws upon his prior professional experiences in management, customer service, business strategy, operations, and product management for the financial services and high technology industry. Today, he coaches and leads workshops for some of the largest corporations, nonprofits and governmental organizations worldwide.

Doy holds an MBA from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and a BA in Economics from Stanford University, and he is a graduate of BECI’s Executive Coaching Institute. Growing up in a multilingual household and living both in Southeast Asia and North America, Doy developed a deep awareness for different points of view, which informs his coaching practice.

While at Stanford he directed the a cappella group Stanford Mixed Company, produced an album, and won the 2001 Contemporary A Cappella Recording Award for one of his many arrangements. His love for the performing arts extended to other stages as an actor and a dancer, and today Doy uses his extensive performing arts experiences to enable others to develop their communication skills and leadership presence.

Evelyn Carter headshot

Dr. Evelyn Carter received her Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Indiana University, where her research focused on how people detect cues to racial bias and discuss bias across group lines. After graduation, she received funding from the National Science Foundation to continue her research as a postdoctoral scholar at Purdue University. There, she investigated successful racial bias confrontation strategies and ways that language can subtly reinforce harmful gender stereotypes. Her work has been published in academic journals such as Social Cognition and Social and Personality Psychology Compass, and she regularly presents at conferences and universities across the country.

Evelyn’s current focus is on using social science research to help create and sustain equity, diversity, and inclusion on college campuses. She has substantial experience in this area, having led collaborative teams of university administrators, faculty, and students to develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based programs at five different universities.

Ingrid Laman is a Principal Executive Advisor with the CEB Human Resources Practice, and partners with members on key talent management projects and programs. In her role, Ingrid is responsible for delivering ROI to clients by connecting the CEB’s insights, decision support tools, and implementation resources to clients’ strategic decisions. Ingrid works across the HR Practice’s entire suite of talent management and human resources functional effectiveness products, including performance management, employee engagement, employment value proposition design and human resources business partner effectiveness. Ingrid also leads both virtual as well as in-person presentations and workshops for member organizations.

Prior to the Executive Advisor role, Ingrid served as the Director of Best Practices Research at CEB Learning and Development. She helped to launch the research program in 2002, specializing in the development of best-practice case profiles in management and leadership development in studies such as Supporting the Manager-Led Development Mandate, Leaders Who Develop the Next Generation of Leaders, Boosting the Effectiveness of Frontline Management, Boosting the Predictability of L&D Returns, and Refocusing L&D on Business Results. She also pioneered the development of training materials, and job aids for CEB-HR Practice clients’ manager and leader populations. She is a member of the professional faculty at the University of California’s Haas School of Business as a Lecturer for the core design thinking course in the MBA program, the Building Trust-Based Relationships course in the executive MBA program, team coach for applied innovation course, and Assistant Lecturer for leadership and communications courses. She has also facilitated both leadership and innovation programs through the UC Berkeley Center for Executive Education, including Leading Innovative Change and High Impact Leadership. She is a coach and facilitator for programs through the Berkeley Executive Coaching Institute, working with clients including Salesforce.com, Adobe, Peterson Caterpillar and others.

Jennifer also creates workshops to help clients untangle complicated problems through experiential, collaborative work based on design-thinking principles. Her clients include Rotary International, the Haas School of Business marketing & development group, and others.

Prior to her work at UC Hastings, she served as the HR Director for the University Health Services division on the Berkeley campus. Traci Carpenter came to UC San Diego in 2007 from the State of Alaska where she served in both the executive and legislative branches integrating issues of policy, leadership and initiative-based work over her 20 year career. She is a certified change practitioner and joined the Office of Operational Strategic Initiatives team in 2015 as the project manager for financial simplification initiatives sponsored by the Vice Chancellor and Chief Financial Officer. Her areas of expertise include project and change management, budget planning and management, and policy analysis and development.
