Gerry Preciado
President and Principle Consultant, 34th Street Consulting
When relationships go bad, people call Gerry Preciado. Mr. Preciado has literally trained and consulted with thousands of employees. His areas of expertise and emphasis are leadership, organizational development and conflict resolution. He has contracted with UCOP to provide services throughout the UC system since 2009.
Gerry is not a mediator, he is a Wedge Remover. He pinpoints the core pain points in relationships and the behaviors driving in the proverbial wedges, and he provides the solution or formula for their removal. After spending several years as an employment law trial attorney (representing first plaintiffs and then defendants), Mr. Preciado realized that rather than being part of the solution to create great workplace environments, he was part of the problem. After seeing the proverbial light and the error of his ways, he spent several years developing an approach to leading and managing people, and empowering them to positively manage and respond to conflict and other workplace challenges.
Mr. Preciado received both his Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor degrees from UCLA.

Stacy Starkka
Industrial-Organizational Psychologist and Chief Learning Officer, Communications Lab International
Dr. Starkka realized the paramount role interpersonal communication skills play at work decades ago while working to empower technology teams across North and South America to achieve their goals. People who were good communicators simply had better outcomes. They had better relationships, they achieved more, they had higher satisfaction ratings and they had higher levels of personal wellbeing. Think about the difference communication skills make when you interact with healthcare providers, when you are explaining a problem to a customer service representative or when you are trying to persuade someone to see your point of view. Wow!
Dr. Starkka has an MBA, a PhD in consulting industrial-organizational psychology and over four decades of experience discovering, teaching and helping others to apply interpersonal communication skills to achieve their goals. Dr. Starkka also teaches teaming, leadership and communication courses at California State University and is a frequent guest lecturer in many other academic environments.
